Islamabad: A high-powered British delegation currently on an official visit to Pakistan marks a significant milestone in bilateral higher education relations between the UK and Pakistan.
Accompanied by senior officials of the British Council and the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan, the delegation visited the National University of Science and Technology (NUST).
Led by Sir Steve Smith, the UK Government's International Education Champion, the delegation was made up of high-profile figures from government and academia who sought to explore opportunities for academic collaboration and research partnerships.
Engr Javed Mahmood Bukhari, Chancellor of NUST welcomed the guests on their arrival at the university. A wide-ranging discussion followed, covering the university's national and global achievements, R&D initiatives and efforts to build a sustainable knowledge-based economy through a robust research, innovation, entrepreneurship and commercialization ecosystem.
