Toyota Motor said on Friday it will invest $1.4 billion to start producing electric vehicles at its plant in the US state of Indiana in 2026, increasing its electric vehicle capacity in North America.
Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Indiana, which has more than 7,500 employees, will become the Japanese automaker's second electric car plant in the US. According to the company, the investment “results in the addition of up to 340 new high-quality jobs.”
