ISLAMABAD, April 26 (APP): ICC Asia has launched Asia Cricket Week which will be held from April 28 to May 5.

Activities range from a workshop for women's coaches in Kuala Lumpur, cricket clinics and workshops in Nepal, community programs in Singapore to foundation coaching courses for physical education teachers in Uzbekistan and hosting an inter-Emirati U19 men's event in the UAE, the press reported. release.

It's a particularly exciting week for women's cricket in the region, with Iran's women's tournament kicking off in Tehran, Qatar, while the five-team Malaysia Women's Super League kicks off with 14 matches to watch live. at the ICC.

For the first time, Kuwait will host Bahrain in the “Yalla Shabab” (Le's Go Guys) series from April 25 to 27 at the Sulaibiya Cricket Ground. The three-match, 100% indigenous Arab T20 series is designed to boost local support ahead of the 2030 and 2034 Asian Games in Doha and Riyadh.

In Hong Kong, the hosts and China will play the final day of the Premier League for men and women on May 5. Both games will be broadcast live locally, promoting the sport and encouraging fan support for both the men's and women's games in the region.

The Criiio ICC training and education program will take place in Bahrain, Mongolia, Qatar and Tajikistan, while junior cricket and schools events will be held in Cambodia, China, Maldives, Myanmar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and Thailand.

This special week of cricket coincides with the United Nations celebrating April 6 as the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace.

This initiative aims to strengthen the spirit of cricket across the region, which symbolizes sportsmanship and unity.

Keeping this in mind, ICC Asia has encouraged its members to get involved in organizing cricket-related events and gatherings during this time.
