KUALA LUMPUR — A new Malaysian venture capital firm focused on the semiconductor industry plans to invest in more than 10 startups through its $209 million fund, hoping to help advance the Southeast Asian nation’s chip industry.
Lai Pin Yong, co-founder and chairman of Blue Chip Venture Capital, told Nikkei Asia that Malaysia is well-positioned to develop its semiconductor industry as Southeast Asia’s electronics manufacturing hub is attracting businesses and the global supply chain is becoming more diverse.
