According to President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s July 18 decree, a new tourism brand will be developed for Uzbekistan.

The document states the purpose of creating a new brand as promoting the tourism product of Uzbekistan in foreign and domestic tourism markets and strengthening the country’s image as a safe destination for tourism and recreation.

The Committee for Tourism was given the task of organizing a competition to create a new tourist brand by October 1.

Uzbekistan’s current tourism brand was registered in 2013 (pictured above in an airplane).

The brand consists of the word “Uzbekistan” and silhouettes of mountains, a crescent and a dome. The logo is used at various events, on souvenirs, tourist transport, airplanes and other carriers.

The decree stipulates the launch of the first “Global Tourism Media Campus” on World Tourism Day, September 27.

Plans to boost tourism also include attracting 50 foreign journalists, bloggers, vloggers and influencers with an audience of more than 10 million people by 2024-2025.
