KABUL (Afghanistan): The 2024 Olympic Games are set to begin tomorrow (Friday) in Paris, the capital of France, amid tight security, a media report said on Thursday.
Around 10,500 athletes from different countries, including six from Afghanistan, would compete in 32 sports in 329 events, India Times reported.
The Games will continue until August 11 in Paris, which has already hosted the Olympics twice in 1900 and 1924.
Where the opening ceremony takes place
The opening ceremony will be watched by about 104,000 people in stands along the Seine River, and another 220,000 on elevated roadways along a nearly four-kilometer stretch of the river, says French Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin.
