TAIPEI/TOKYO – The US is introducing new export controls on chip-making equipment and quantum computing technology as it continues to try to curb China’s progress in these areas.
The Commerce Department’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) published the new rules on Thursday, which will take effect immediately, although there is a 60-day period for public comment.
