High temperatures are expected in Tajikistan from today until the end of July (from July 24 to July 31).
According to the Hydrometeorological Center of the Republic, the maximum temperature will reach 40-43 degrees Celsius in the valley areas under the republic, including Dushanbe and the Sughd region.
In the Khatlon area, the air warms up to 43-46 degrees.
In Darvaz, the thermometer rises to 40-42 degrees, in some mountain and foothill areas to 37-40 degrees.
12:00 p.m July 21st
Meteorologists warn that as a result of rising air temperatures in the basins of the Zarafshan, Pyanj and Vakhsh rivers, the water level is predicted to rise.
In the mountainous and high-altitude regions of the republican subordination and in the west of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, glacial mudflows are possible.
Let’s remind that earlier the Agency for hydrometeorology “Asia-Plus” reported that July in Tajikistan will be hot with temperatures slightly above the climatic norm. It has also been reported that rainfall in most areas will be below normal, except for some mountainous areas and eastern GBAO areas where more rainfall is expected. On some days, westerly winds were reported to increase to 15-20 m/s, with dust storms and haze.
Until the beginning of this week, the air temperature in most areas did not rise above 36-38 degrees.
How to behave in the heat?
Most people feel sick on hot days. Especially those who have chronic diseases – diabetes, heart disease, obesity, hypertension, etc. During the hot season, the heart and blood vessels and the respiratory system suffer from increased stress.
These days you need to be vigilant and limit your time on the street, especially at noon. It is advisable to wear light clothes made of cotton materials and drink more water.
You also need:
– Drink more pure water. It is recommended to drink warm rather than cold water – it quenches thirst much better and does not cause problems with the throat.
– If possible, carry out wet cleaning and try to humidify the air in the apartment using humidifiers or simply damp sheets hung around the house.
– Observe all safety rules as much as possible when resting near water bodies, do not bathe in prohibited or designated places.
– If you need to go out in the heat, then protect yourself with hats and umbrellas.
Remember that from 12.00 to 16.00 the sun is most active, but in case of abnormal weather it is recommended not to go outside from 10.00 to 18.00. If unavoidable, protect all parts of the body from the sun by wearing covered clothing and applying sunscreen to the face, neck, and hands.
– Take water treatments more often to clean your pores and refresh your body.
