KABUL (Afghanistan): Afghan-Turkish schools organized a day-long exhibition that showcased local food, handicrafts, calligraphy and art objects.
A general exhibition of the culture of Afghanistan and its people was held at Aryana Boys School in the Shah-i-Du Shamshera area of the capital, Kabul.
Ibrahim Fateh Gochlu, Director General of Afghan-Turkish Schools said during the inauguration ceremony that this is the first time such an exhibition was held by these schools and its purpose was to inform the young Afghan generation about their native culture and they will start such programs in the future.
He said, “Nearly two hundred projects including handicrafts, traditional food, Afghan clothes etc. prepared by the students of these schools were exhibited.
Kumars Tawhid, a seventh grade student of Aryana Afghan-Turkish School, said that this exhibition was organized to introduce the culture of the people of Afghanistan.
He said, “By holding these exhibitions, the people of Afghanistan will get to know their culture better and promote their culture further in the future.
Sayed Rahman Imran, another student said, “As you all know today, a public exhibition of culture and literature was held in our school where all the students displayed their art, sports performance and handiwork.”
He considered it important to hold such exhibitions to further promote Afghan culture and called for such events to be held in the future.
