An Airbus A320 (flight number UK32031) flying from Istanbul to Samarkand on Qanot Sharq Airlines flight HH572 has landed at Merzifon Airport in the Amasya region, the nearest alternate airport en route due to an on-board emergency in Turkish skies. .
According to the spotter channel “Novosti Tashkenskogo neba”, the crew announced the response code “7700” during the flight over Turkish skies. This code indicates that an emergency or other abnormal situation has occurred in the aircraft. Then the plane began to descend towards Merzifon Airport.
The plane took off from Istanbul Airport at 16:52 local time. Landing in Samarkand was expected at 23:10. The same plane was scheduled to fly to St. Petersburg at 01:10 on August 27. Now this flight will also be delayed.
