Rawalpindi: The District Health Authority (DHA) has sealed 69 premises and filed 56 First Information Reports (FIRs) for dengue Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) violations from January 1 till date.
District epidemic prevention and control coordinator Dr. Giving details here, Sajjad Mehmood said on Saturday that the district administration in collaboration with allied departments had issued tickets to 129 and imposed a fine of Rs 238,000 for violating dengue standard operating procedures in 2024. Dr Sajjad informed that this year approximately four confirmed cases were reported in the district, with two in 2022 and 2023 in the said period.
The health official further said that in indoor vector surveillance, teams checked 1,372,873 houses and larvae were detected in 3,080 places, while in outdoor surveillance, larvae were found in 732 places when 361,501 places were checked.
He said dengue surveillance had been stepped up to check larval growth while spraying was done in areas that were prone to mosquito breeding. Dengue SOPs were strictly followed and dashboard data was updated regularly, he added.
